The auxiliary drive is used for inspection and maintenance needs, for example, in mills. The auxiliary drive should only be used for necessary service operations.
The primary purpose of the auxiliary drive is to position the mill correctly for performing the required maintenance tasks. Due to the specific operation of the auxiliary drive, which involves very low rotational speeds, there may be insufficient lubrication of the gearbox bearings, potentially leading to accelerated wear. For this reason, continuous or long-term operation of the auxiliary drive should be avoided.
